    actinic and gmail business settings

    I'm trying to configure actinic v9 to send emails via gmails smtp service at smtp.gmail.com

    i know for certain i have the right login details and i know 100% that it works because it works in every single other email sending app i can find.

    The error is:
    The 'SMTP server' address entered in the 'Web | Network Setup' is incorrect, or not a valid SMTP server.
    Possible Solutions:
    1) Try "localhost" as the "SMTP Server"
    2) Check the "SMTP Server" host name, user name and password with your server host, then correct the details in 'Web | Network Setup'
    3) Check your firewall settings
    can anyone lend a hand here plz?

    "If your client does not support SMTP authentication, you won't be able to send mail through your client using your Gmail address."

    Is this the case with actinic?

      1. Yes actinic does support SMTP authentication.
      2. Have you enabled it and entered a username and password?
      3. have you looked in your error log to see what specific error messages are there? (if none, upload the site with the correct settings and send an email from within actinic to see what happens).
