Actinic Customer Accounts

Hi

I look after an Actinic site for my client, I add products, change prices, mark things out of stock, do design changes, etc, on my PC, and he downloads and process's orders.

We occasionally sync snapshots so that he has the up to date catalogue locally on his machine and so that I have a copy of all the orders for generating Best Sellers and Also Bought lists, etc.

He has asked if I can setup some accounts for trade buyers with set discount rates. I know I can do this, but I was wondering if this was a server side thing - ie I can mange it and it doesn't matter if his client is not up to date, or if every change to an account needs to be synchronised with his client?

The sales data is all held within the sale record as i understand, so no the account will not need to be setup their end. This could well change with v11 though, that will need a sync i suspect. In preparation for that, maybe start dialling into the main system to do work instead?
