Script Error Occurred: The input is NULL

    Hi,

On my site www.englishorganicwine.co.uk , when adding a product to basket, and then trying to checkout I recently started getting an error message.

    "A General Script Error Occurred
    Error: The input is NULL
Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner."

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

It’s always worked fine, and only started within the last 3 days. I haven’t really edited anything major in that time.

Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated. If screenshots or tests are required to help further I can do them really quickly and get back to you.

    Thankyou for your time!
    Alex

Your checkout seems to be trying to bounce to SSL and then failing.

There also appears to be a problem with the SSL certificate as even one of your static pages on https gives a certificate error.

Given your problems I'd switch off SSL and get that working as a first step.

My guess would be that your hosts have messed up something (lots of things?) as your server is also running extremely slowly.

Learn about image optimisation too, your images are way too big in file size for what you need, that certainly won't help the slowness. Tutorial on my site about images and optimisation, i'd suggest a read.

I have asked our hosting company (Namesco) to check our server and they say its not them:

        Dear Alex,

Thank you for getting in touch with us about your site.

The error message you are receiving is not a server error - this is being generated by the Actinic software. I would recommend contacting Actinic support for assistance with this at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support-centre.html
I have also been onto actinic support and they said:

Can you do a settings test through Web | Network Setup | Test and see what happens please, it looks like there might be a problem with the SSL side of things, the after adding to cart the checkout is very slow and then it eventually fails, if at all any error messages comes up during the test please make a note of it and get back to me with it.

Also if the test fails can you turn off the SSL and the try, let me know how that goes too…
The web test's for both Standard & SSL appeared to complete successfully, as shown in the screenshot below
        http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/1899/testpass.jpg

So after this test is it still possible that SSL is not working?

Getting the checkout to work at the moment is the priority

        Thanks for your time!

OK. I see you're using shared SSL rather than your own certificate so a simple https test doesn't work.

The error is definitely happening on the bounce to SSL so if you want to see whether it's the SSL causing the problem then turn it off and see if the error goes away.

If the problem disappears then you can decide whether to work without it or try and fix it. It isn't necessary on the checkout anyway.

I had this problem a few weeks ago.

I fully refreshed the site and everything has been fine since.
