V8 Multi Site Location

Having upgraded my OS to W7 from Vista I had a few issues ( including having to change the location of my 'Site 1' folder to the 'Public' Folder instead of 'My Documents' to get around various UAC issues!

Anyway everything is working fine for 'Site 1' but I would now like to get all my sites including 'Site 1' into the 'My Documents' Folder.

I tried cutting and pasting one of the other sites but nothing shows up in the File/Sites dialog.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

You can try copying all folders from your old Sites folder to the new. Then you also need to copy the file Sites.ini which is used by Actinic as a master list of sites to use.

Backup everything first in case things go wrong.

Thanks for that Norman, but how does one instruct Actinic to look for the sites in the 'new' location?

There is a button in the sites dialog (file / sites) called 'Sites directory' that lets you enter a location for the sites directory. If you change this to where they are, Actinic should tell you that sites already exist there and ask if you would like to use those, you can then say yes and should be sorted.

Hi Jan and thanks for that. I wish I had that button in the File/Sites dialog but I don't! Maybe that's from a different version - I am using V8.5.3

I guess I could get around all this by re-installing Actinic and pointing it in the right direction when prompted during the install but I just thought there might be a simpler way that you experts might know about!

After appropriately backing up and only if you are adept with the registry you can try changing the following key and restarting Actinic:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Actinic\Catalog8\Sites]
SitesFolder - change this key's data to your actual Sites' location
