Can I buy a previously owner v8 multi user license key

    Hi Guys,
Quick question for you... does anyone know if it is allowable under the Actinic license key terms and conditions, for us to be able to buy an old v8 multi user actinic license key from another user?

We are working to upgrade our site to the latest version of Actinic, but I need a couple of extra v8 multi user license keys to tide us over until the new site is ready.

I was thinking if I could buy a couple of license keys, perhaps from a user who has already upgraded to a later version of Actinic, but I'm not sure if this is allowable in the Actinic conditions of sale.

If anyone knows the answer please do let me know. If it is allowable, and anyone has a couple of v8 multi user license keys, please do drop me a PM as I would be very interested in buying them from you.

    Cheers, Ed.

I am pretty sure that you are not allowed to do this, particularly if they have upgraded the key already.

I thought this might be the case; do you think there is a restriction where the person who originally purchased the key from Actinic didn't upgrade it but, for whatever reason, no longer requires the key?

        My understanding.

If a key has been upgraded then the old version key is retired and should no longer be used.

I suggest you contact Actinic direcly about this.

        Why do temporarily need keys?

The reason is that we are working to upgrade the whole site to the latest version, but for various reasons it is taking longer than expected.

In that meantime, I have taken on a couple of new member of staff and I would like them to be able to use the Actinic system, but I can't at the moment due to lack of v8 multi user licenses.

I am also exploring an option of using Actinet which might provide the short term solution I need. However, if anyone does have an 'unretired' license key, and it is allowable to sell them on, please do let me know.

          Cheers, Ed.

I don't believe that you can use a retired license on a different site either but agree with Duncan that you should double check with Actinic as they may choose to give you permision to do this.

I got a very good deal with I upgraded my system to 5 users here, so it might well be worth talking to sales, particularly if you want to continue to use multiuser once your upgrade is complete.
