    Help!!!!!

Is there anyone out there that can help sort out issues with version 9.
The amount of time I am wasting is crippling my business.
Either it crashes when ever it wants, or has strange errors when entering manual orders and now it takes for ever to print off orders.

I have had it with Actinic technical support and the only option they have is pay loads of money for a newer version and that is not something I am prepared to do to a company who has wasted so much of my time and money already.

I need some one with real knowledge of this system to sort it out so I can get on with making my business grow rather than wasting time trying to process orders!!

I am currently building a new shop to take the largest of my shops away from Actinic but the amount of time I am wasting carrying out basic order processing jobs is preventing me from getting on with that.

    HELP!!!

    Jerry,

PM me and you can then explain the issues and your plan / needs etc.

Some housekeeping basics that may help...
Export/Purge your older orders to reduce the database size and compact daily.

The newer versions of Actinic are large memory aware and as a result are much faster for larger sites, that coupled with newer 64bit PCs with more installed memory make a big difference.

I can only say the strange errors are about the only thing that got an update in the latest version

          Hi

I will take that as a no then!!!!

I did PM ICC but no reply.

I will just continue to shout and swear at Actinic and waste more time.

I really don't know how Actinic support sleep at night.

          Cheers

Did you do what I suggested?

I expect Ian will respond to your PM when he has opportunity.

              Hi Duncan

Yes I have tried what you suggetst and it makes no diference, this is the sort of advice I get from 'Technical Support' which just wastes time and becomes very patronising.

              Cheers

                  Hi Duncan

What do you call inappropriate posts?

I am trying to get help and asking Actinic to fix known problems I do not think is inappropriate.

Your attitude goes along with the normal response you get from Actinic so I suppose you should call it 'inappropriate with Actinic Policy'.

You can sit where ever you do and hand out rather inane "Help" along with your other Actinic friends but us out here in the real world trying to make a living feel rather differently to you about fixing the known problems with Actinic.

I am sure you will delete this post as well but that does not make us feel better just angry an re-instates Actinic's lack of care for their customers

                  Cheers

                  Jerry

What a pompus arse you are.

Everyone on this forum is a volunteer trying to offer and learn from others, and you insult them because they try and help you, if someone gives the same advice that is probably because they know what the common repairs are. yet youstill cannot see it

Why should anyone spend their time helping you with your attitude rather than get on with thier own web sites

Are you a cover customer and if not why not, thats how actinic makes some money from helping people sort out their problems

Basically Jerry you have pissed off a whole load of forum members who have nothing to do with Actinic except they have brought and use the system

Well that is waht I would call inappropriate post.

I am not a pompus arse.

I just feel that Actinic has a responsibility to sort out problems for customers who have spent a great deal of money on there system. I have been an Actinic user for many years and the system has become more bug ridden over the years.
I have tried using Actinic cover but this proved to be a complete waste of more of my money.
Of course I have the latest version do not insult me!!

Any attitude I have is due to years of hassle from Actinic dispite the amount of money I have spent with them with multiple upgrades.

I am as I said trying to move my largest shop on to a new sytem but the problems I get on a daily basis from Actinic are making this incredibly difficult.

I think everyone on this forum knows Actinic has problems, and some support me, but get their posts removed.

maybe we should support each other to get Actinic to have a change of heart towrds their "Customer Suport" and "After Sales Service".

                        Cheers

                        Jerry

Have you considered upgrading the hardware your Actinic site runs on as per Duncan's helpful comment?

Personally I have found the support on this forum second to none over the years. I have a whole file of bookmarks of useful posts and I refer to them all the time.

So what you are saying is I need a new computer, but that will not fix the bugs in Actinic.

I think you have got me all wrong what I want is to fix the bugs in Actinic not get help in how to use it and maintain it.

I have used it for many years so I am very capable of using it but I cannot fix problems that are intrinsic in the build.

What I want is Actinic to sort it out and be responsive and open about the problems they know about and be pro active at sorting them.

They are happy to tell you there is now problem until you push harder and then they eventually admit there is a known bug.
This is very frustrating and wastes a lot of time for them and me.
They then tell you the only way to "fix" the bugs is spend another load of money on the latest version. It was the move to Business Plus version 9 that has caused me th e most problems so the idea of spending a whole load of money on another version does not fit well as it may fix bugs but probably will cause a whole load of new ones.

My initial cry for help was to see if some one outside Actinic actually had any bright ideas.

My only option it seems is to struggle on until I can move away from Actinic for good.

This will allow Actinic to carry on making huge amounts of money and not provide good customer support, something which companies feel they are free to do once they get big enough.
