Moving server error

Hi, when I run the network wizard + test setting everything is fine until I get to the Mail Server, when I get the following message:
An error occurred while sending an HTTP request to the web server.
Perhaps your network is down or the web server is down.
Try again or contact your network administrator or ISP to correct the situation.
As my network/server were not down at the time, and I can see the test html etc, were successfully uploaded. i do not understand why it should fail on the mail test!
So can anyone shed some light on this for me?
