Hide Content unless logged in

Having never used accounts this is an area I'm very weak on and don't have a clue.

Is it possible to hide content unless the customer is logged in. If so would the content still be available in the source code?

Hi Jason, I use this to hide products. I hide the product from anyone except one of the 5 main customer types I have. Select a product, Product Details tab, Prices option,
uncheck Retail product visibility but leave it 'Enabled'.
