Upgrading Customised site to Swift V2 - cannot copy differences

When you use the Swift V2 Extension to upgrade a customised site to Swift V2, before proceeding to download the upgrade acd the dialogue shows you the layouts with differences and what they are.
Click 'Difference' to see the differences between your version and the Swift default. This should help you to identify your own changes and reapply them manually if needed.
The big problem is that whilst telling you to reapply the changes it is not possible to copy the differences from this dialogue to the new Swift V2 layouts as when you copy the whole page including line numbers is selected.

This makes the whole process much more laborious as you have to copy these layouts to a backup version in the library then, after upgrade, crawl through to find each bit!

It would be so much easier if you could just copy the highlighted existing difference (on thre right) to paste into the new layout - judiciously preserving Swift V2 features of course.

Secondly, once you have gone through this process and applied customisation to the Swift V2 layouts, because they are now different to what the upgrader expects, it still says V2 is not installed even when it is!

This is from a site upgraded to Swift V2 with the customisations applied whilst preserving Swift V2 features:

Could the process be modified to be more friendly to those with customised sites please?

External tools may help a bit:

If you copy / paste the layout text into Notepad++ you can then select a column (hold the Alt key down while making the selection) containing the extraneous line numbers and delete that.

If you copy the layouts to separate text files then WinMerge lets you compare and move code between these files.
