    HSBC Issue

    Hi

I have seen a few threads with this issue but nobody seems to have posted up an answer. I have gone live and have been able to process some transaction but did a live transaction today and got the following message:

Transaction was rejected by HSBC. Message:
The order is invalid because the order ID is a duplicate.

Does anybody know why I'm getting this? The order ID doesn't seem to be a duplicate one to me.

    Cheers

      Hi,

The same happened to me. The order number is built using the initials and I think part of the post code and if you upgrade from V6 to V7 the order number is reset to 0. This is fine until you have a repeat customer who hits the same sequence, unlikely, but you probably tested the initial transactions using your details on one version and again later. Therefore submitting the same orderno to HSBC.

Solution change the start order no:

      Troubleshooting
      Change Order no

        Hi

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't upgrade from V6 to V7 and I don't ask my customers to log in so not sure if that is one of the problems?

Having looked at the order number the first 7 digits make up the person intials and part of the postcode but the rest is a random number that shouldn't be the same, or is that not the case.

Also I want into help troubleshoot but couldn't see Change Order No????

Is this going to happen to other customers if they place another order, I didn't place the second order until 3 days later.

        Cheers

It's the 'Order Number' field - enter an integer into there and click 'Update Order Number'.

With regards to your issue, did you start HSBC, then go back to Actinic, then try and enter HSBC again? I'm trying to come up with a scenario where HSBC could conceivably complain about a duplicate order number.

            Hi

I added my item to the basket and then went through the checkout process and was then moved to the HSBC site. I then entered my card details and the confirm page appeared. When I then clicked continue this was when the duplicate order number appeared.

I don't understand why this happened as the order number didn't appear to be a duplicate number, but I had order before and used the same postcode, but this should matter should it.

            Cheers

Do you repeatedly get this error, or have you just got it the once? Is it something I can reproduce?
