    scrolling 'to top' link ...

A while back, I designed and built a site which had a javascript doodah (I think it was a script off something like hotscripts or dynamicdrive (can't quite recall) which presented the user with a 'to top' hyperlink, which .. when the page scrolled down, scrolled with you so you always had to hand a way of popping back to the top of the page, without having to reach for the scoll bars.

for reasonably long pages (which actinic nicely creates) is it possible to use a script like this somehow? .. stuck into the primary templates. (maybe even cleverer if it only appeared IF the page needed scrolling - in the same way as scroll bars appear when needed. but aren't there if not).

I'd appreciate a bit of guidence here ...

Without seeing the script, there is a limit to what I can advise. The answer usually is yes. It sounds like you would enter the JavaScript into the overall layout template - Act_Primary.html or equivalent.
