Just looking through my logs and I have noticed that almost every page calls error404.html in the backround when it loads. This is no major problem as i know all my links and fine but does anyone know why this might be happening??

If you provide a url, we could do a quick test on your site to see where its bringing up this error404.html error. I'm assuming that this is a 404 page cannot be found message on the website. Also we can have a look at what actinic error log has generated to narrow down the error.

Just checked the error log and it seems fine. No reporting of any page cannot be found.
Just wondering if that error message means that you have not created an error404.html page. I know with some hosting company, they let you customise the error messages. So that when someone misspells something on your site resulting in a 404 error, it looks for the customised error message page?
But your site checks out fine from a quick site check.
