    Reference number in cart

    Hi.

I have manually added each product reference number so it matches the real reference number. The problem is, a couple of my products have components and choices.

How do I deal with the reference number for this? For example there 5 variants of a product (the only difference being size) but each has its own reference number.

The cart seems to only show the reference number of the main product under which is the component and choices.

Does anybody have any advice on what to to in this situation? Or anything at all?

    Thanks

    Ben

Just a guess but probably you can resolve this by using hidden associated products for the different versions of your products.

      Hmmm.

I must have got mixed up somewhere along the way.

I tried the approach of having hidden product and associations, but when I uploaded it, it said that the product is currently unavailable.

Can someone help me out with a step by step way of doing this (if it isn't too much bother)

      Cheers

      Ben.

        Sorted it.

Hi. I managed to sort it in the end.

Another question though, is there anyway of doing something with the product reference number of the product which houses the component, attribute and choices?

At the moment it is just defaulting to the standard Actinic way of dishing the reference numbers out.

It looks a bit unusual when the rest of the site has proper reference numbers.

        Any suggestions?

        Thanks. Ben.

          Which site?

Can you let me have the site address so I can take a look?

            Hi

This for example shows what I mean.

Basically, it is where it says PW Ref: 417 that is giving us the headache. Obviously we don't have one single reference to put in there as it is simply the master product for a list of 6 variants of a product (in this case a welding cap with different size holes 5, 6, 7, 9mm etc each one has its own individual reference number though.)

You will see what I mean when you look at the link

            Thanks

            Ben.

Take a look at the main help - specifically the chapter on 'Product Options | Making Customer Selection Affect Price and Stock Level'. This will tell you how to associate hidden products (with reference numbers) to the choices in your drop-downs using a component.
