    Import stock level

    Hi.

I know this is a subject which is probably regularly addressed, but it is causing me a headache.

I have added all the products and prices manually. Now we want to add the stock level, but we want to add it automatically using a .csv. We have Product reference and Stock in hand as our column headers in the .csv file.

When I go to import the file, it asks for one of the column headers to be 'Section text'. We have lots and lots of different sections, do we really have to sit and type in every single section next to each product we want to enter the stock for?

I thought it would be possible just from using the 'Product reference' or something? Anybody have any suggestions?.

    Thanks

    Ben.

You can do this easily using a hierarchical import file, the format of the file would be something like this :

    Header:Product,Product reference,Stock Checks Enabled,Stock In Hand
    "Product" ,"REF1",1,142
    "Product" ,"REF2",1,130
    "Product" ,"REF3",1,116

If you have already set up stock monitoring for your products then you don't need the stock checks enabled column.
