credit card security number

does anyone know how we can record the credit card security number (the one on the strip on the rear of the card)?

If you go into View | Business Settings | Payment & Security tab and click on configure method for the credit card payment method, then you will find an option for the CVV2, which when enabled will request that information from the customer.

This assumes that you are receiving card details into your site, and not using an Online Credit Card Processor (OCCP), which if you are, then you will need to speak to them to have it added to your payment pages with them, but hope this helps.

Our client often receives orders from overseas and sometimes from countries with a slightly dodgy reputation. They like to include the 3 digit code as extra proof that the person has the card.

Whether this makes any difference to the credit card company or not, I don't know.

tony, depending on what you sell, you may want to verify the cc details BEFORE you get the order ready...saves hassle and packing materials if the cc is dodgy
