    Actinic Link to Sage

Is there any way that when you export an order from Actinic into Sage to let the order stay in Pending rather than move it to completed and to leave the shipping date blank rather than give a shipping date of the date the order was exported.

The way we work is that an order is pending until it has been shipped and therefore previously at a glance I could see what orders had not been shipped but now we're using Link (which is very good and time saving!) I can't, plus the shipping date is false as sometimes the order is not shipped on the day the order is exported to Sage.

    Thanks

    I need the same thing.

I have started using the highlight colours to show what stage things are at

use green for pending annd grey for shipped

I'll find out whether there is a better way to do this. In the short term, the order highlighting option is a pretty good one.

It seems that Actinic is working as designed. The export is designed as the last stage of the order process. i.e. it is the last thing you want to do in Actinic before moving to another system.

It sounds like you are in an awkward half-way house at the moment, with doing some in Actinic and some in Sage. You need to decide whether you are going to use link to

        a) Transfer all order details as soon as they come into Actinic and then solely work with them in Sage

        or

        b) Use Actinic to process the orders and then just use Actinic link for Sage to transfer over the orders you have finished with.

We currently use Actinic in conjunction with Sage Link in the following way:

This way we can easily keep track of pending orders which stay as pending until they are shipped. We have noticed however, that stock levels are being messed up in Actinic, presumably because we are exporting completed orders from Actinic (whilst leaving pending orders in Actinic), then possibly importing new stock delivery data from Sage back into Actinic.
We would really like to keep processing orders in Actinic as it is clear at what stage each order is, but is there a way of exporting selected data from the pending orders (ie the allocated reductions in stock), so that the order remains in pending in Actinic?
          Many thanks

Hi Sarah, I'm afraid this isn't possible, as Actinic Link always transfers over full order details - not just stock levels.

I'll add this to the wish list for you.

              Transfers into Sage

The way we solved this problem is to use the sales order feature in Sage Line 50 Financial Controller.

We transfer the Actinic order into Sage as a sales order, and not as an invoice. Sage FC has the facility to keep track of pending orders, partially shipped orders, etc. This has worked very well for us.
