    SP2 problems???

Hi does XP SP2 cause problems with firewalls etc when uploading the catalogue? I had problems where the upload was stopped in its tracks and I think this is the problem.

    Any ideas??

SP2 can cause problems but it all depends on what firewall you're using and whether you're using the SP2 firewall or not.

What firewall are you using and is the SP2 firewall turned on or off?

I tested the network setting, this is the error message I got in version 6:

      --------------------
      Mail server messages:

      220 smtp-7.star.net.uk ESMTP

      250 smtp-7.star.net.uk

      250 ok

553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

Failed 4 - Response: 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)
      ---------------------

I then did the same with version 7 and I got this message:

      --------------------
      Actinic Mail Test completed successfully
      server: passed
      connection: passed
      sockets: passed
      communications: failed
      authorisation: passed
message: sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)
      ----------------------

I turned the firewall off....still got this problem!

      Any ideas??

I am getting a little confused between your different posts. According to THIS POST you were getting a crash when you tried to test settings. Now you can test OK and you are getting an error with your mail server.

During the test, Actinic will try and send a message to the email address specified in 'Business Settings | Company\Contact'. Has this address got a different domain to the address you use for your website? This could be the problem.

hi i've resolved all my problems by refreshing the website rather than updating it. it seems there were some problems merging files. thanks for all your help.
