7.0.2 ... this is in beta isn't it?

should one immediately got for upgrading to the new version .. or should one wait until it is out of beta and upgrade then?

are there any implications of upgrading from 7.0.1 to 7.0.2 beta or is a 'no-brainer' and one should do it without asking any more silly questions like this one?

Unless you are actually prepared to test the new software and provide feedback, you should wait until it is fully live before upgrading.

7.0.2 has no template changes so the upgrade should be fairly smooth.
