    Manually entering an order

Is it possible to enter an order in Actinic itself? We want to integrate orders from mail-order and the online catalogue.

If it is possible how can I do it?

Nice one for a Friday afternoon!

The easiest way is to enter the mail order orders via the website!

I thought about that, however, concerned about data protection, unsure how you stand on that.

      Any ideas?

Is there no other way of manually entering the data?

Did wonder about running a copy of the website locally?

      Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you so far, kind regards Mash

        concerned about data protection

When you take an order over the phone, do you ask customers "Often we share customer details with trusted partners offering related products and services....?" There is a question for this in 'Design | Text | Website (cont) | Invoice Address'. You can tick the 'show' box to enable it.

There is no other way of entering the data at the moment. You could run a copy of your store locally, but then you would have the orders in two different store databases which would not be good (unless you take all your orders into something like QuickBooks).

Guess that is the world we live in when we get concerned about data protection!

Running locally had cross our minds, could you point us in the direction how to do this. Have to evaluate the best way to achieve this.

Thank you for your comments and your time.

          Kind regards Mash

How to set up locally in in the advanced user guide....under "stand alone demo"

but as Chris says this will mean having 2 separate databases

              Hi,

Not sure if this will be of help but it may be worth getting in touch with Jan at Mole End Software, she recently did some custom work for us that sounds similar to what your trying to do.

Basicly the software alows us to "invoice" telephone sales using the actinic database to maintain stock, prices, product descriptions etc but from a stand alone front end running on the local network.

              Hope this helps?
