    referrer script to specific item

    Hi Folks,

I have just completed a 'crude' script that adds refer-to-item functionallity to the V6 basic referrer script.

See other post for actual file etc:

    http://community.actinic.com/showpos...0&postcount=13

It outputs a meta-refresh on the displayed page, which bounces to the item.

just add a new name pair to the end of th ereferrer link

It also supports the 'standard' referrer link so your referrals will continue to work.

    feedback plase!

changes to referrer script (v6) to go to named item

    Hi all,

I've got the -direct to item- referrer.pl script working properly including expiry times now.

The pl script renamed LGreferrer.pl.txt is attached.

BACKUP your old referrer.pl script before installing this one!!!!!

    rename to referrer.pl

    upload database

    *********
    How it works:
standard referrer link used, with the addition of one new name pair at the end, with the stock number from your catalog as the value.
The DESTINATION must be the catalog page on which the chosen item is shown. I direct people to my froogle.txt file which I upload to the shop. that has the name, stock code, html page, image location and price listed for all items. People can then choose the items to direct link to. Great!

    *********
Example syntax for a referral link on the Legendgames website is:
    SOURCE=refering_link_name
    &DESTINATION=Current_Top_Trumps.html
    &PATH=../acatalog/
    &BASEURL=http://www.legendgames.co.uk/acatalog/
    &LGPRODUCTCODE=325"

    test the link here

Hope this is of use - comments welcomed
