New e-mail templates

Is there any way of creating new e-mail templates which appear on the drop-down list on the mail template.

We have a lot of orders from people who cannot get through the payment section, so we get the confirmation e-mail to say an order has come in, but no payment is received.

I would like to have an e-mail set up that says to the customer that we have received the order, but not payment. I have copied the Act_PaymentRecEmail.txt to make a new mail saying what I want, but cannot find how to use this mail.

In V6 you can't add another template to the existing list.

I do exactly what you're talking about by using the modifed payment received email. I never send out the standard version.

Is it possible to do in Version 7?
I am considering upgrading, but can't see any point at the moment.

Yes you can create your own email templates within v7 and they can be listed in the drop down creating them in the v7 Manage Email Templates facility.
