Help please - Latin vs. Cyrillic encoding

Hi!
I was hoping to ease my troubles coding when I got
AC v 6. It seems to fit my needs, but...

I can't figure out how to change the encoding of my e-shop to be.

The Actinic Catalogue v6. program is using Latin encoding as a default, while I want my pages to be displayed in Cyrillic windows text type. I have found the options that allow to edit the basic templates, - I tried placing the
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1251">
tag in place of the default one for latin encoding, but It still doesn'twork.

What is the best way of dealing with this problem, and what is the order of steps I should take in order not to miss anything?

Before I go any further, is it your intention to display all text with Cyrillic encoding? In other words, you wish to present your site in Russian?

Hi there

The problem is that the main Actinic executable, which generates the pages, is designed to encode things as Latin rather than anything else.

I'm afraid the most I can do is suggest a change to the developers via the wish list to allow people to select their own encoding. I have done this for you.

I'm not a programmer - so I depend on auto-coding soft.
If I'll get enough info however, I'm willing to try altering the strings of program-given code, to achive my goal.

Do you know if there is an option for changing overall encoding in the later versions of the Actinic programs?

Also, if anyone will have other suggestions
(such as patches for AC v. 6 or other e-commerce soft) that I may try to let me do what I want -
