    template index page

Hi there, i have altered the design of Actinic vers 4. I am wanting o use catalog as my index page, I know that i can link from catalog to a home page, but would prefer to use the index page in catalog. I have the outside of the layout displayed ok, with the menu buttons. I did this by editing the html in act_primary but have quite a large space showing up at the bottom of the page with double lines.
I also want to place some text and some imageson the home page without it going through to all the other pages. I have tried implemnting this in the catalog body, but all the text and the images appears above my basic layout. can anyone help please.

Can you upload your index file to the forum. Save it as a .txt file

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but your main problem is that you are using v4. v5 gives you much more flexibility in design.

            Comment out NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTER in Act_Primary.html.

This is possible from v5 onwards. You can define one overall layout template for your whole store, and then make all your front page use something else.

I would consider upgrading if I were you. Call 0845 129 4800 for details.
