Lots of content pages & the menu bar

There was a post by someone about about a month ago concering the addition of brochure pages with content, but which weren't wanted as links on the Nav bar, so that if for example you had 20 informational brochure pages in 3 main sections, the Nav Bar didn't get silly. (i.e you would have the three sections shown, and have these three as coded pages with links to all the relevant pages thereon.

The fix involved editing the Act_sectionline template to take out the NETQUOTEVAR:NEXT to get round this, and I can understand how this would take it out of the navbar, but I don't understand how I would select this new template for a given brochure page. For each brochure page there only appears to be a choice about the main template (e.g. Act_BrochurePrimary).

I've had a look thro' Act_BrochurePrimary, but can't find Act_SectionLine in there anywhere, so I don't know if I'm supposed to have a new Act_BrochurePrimary1 and Act_SectionLine1 to enable me to select Act_BrochurePrimary1 with the chosen brochure pages.

    I'm wondering if anyone can:
    a) Make any sense of this question
    b) help!

    Many thanks

    Ian

Not sure why someone might suggest sectionline for brochure pages unless this is something completely different, but as you know, the default method for brochure pages is for every brochure page to list the others automatically.

This is placed within the Brochure page by the Act_BrochurePrimary template using the NETQUOTEVAR:HEADERGUIDE.

By <!-- NETQUOTEVAR:HEADERGUIDE --> (commenting it out), and replacing it with your own menu (manually created) will then allow you to specifically control what is shown and what is not shown in your menu.

If there are any other ways of doing this, would be interested in hearing them, but that is how we do it.

Many thanks Techno-Web. A few years now since you did such a great job on our first ever integration of a stand-alone site into actinic! (I think we were Cotswold Herbs then, and not sure if Steve McCabe's still there!).

I was a bit puzzled also. It makes sense that the Act_BrochurePrimary template should be the one for customisation, and I'll have a look at this.

If I'm out of my depth, I know where to go!

      Kind Regards
