Good morning
I have a problem with quick search, when I search for sack trucks on www.rackingplus.com using the quick search I get results for text containing the words sack trucks, what I am after is to also pick up the section sack trucks, well all five sections containing sack trucks. if I add all parent sections to the search I end up with 5,200 product options, is there any way to cut this down so just sack trucks show up , the five sections can be found here http://www.rackingplus.com/acatalog/..._Trolleys.html, I would like these sections to show up first on any search

I think that the search is designed to pick up products and not sections, so not sure that you can specify a section to be found in search results and just the products can be found.

The only way I would think it would be possible is to have a dummy product at the top of the section content which has the information in it that you want to be found, but again, this is only a product in reality and not a section.

I would also say that search results are generated on the order of the products within the site, i.e. top to bottom with your left hand section/product tree structure.

Are you using Business?

If so, then you can add your own Custom Property called say "MYSEARCH" which is searchable with the search term you want enabled added at the section and or product level, which might do the trick.

On the other side of the coin, if you do not Have Business, then Catalog I think will have customvar search abilities added in v7.0.2. which should then cover that.
