    Script Error on Checkout

My site works well but if you click on "checkout" when the shopping basket is empty, I get an ugly page saying "A General Script Error Occurred - the site configuration has been updated while you were checking out (which is not true)" - is this normal?! I know that it is putting customers off because some of them like to look at the checkout process before they order, and this blows their confidence in the whole site. Thanks for any help. Mark H.

    Hi Mark,

This is not normal, what version of Actinic are you on, is it Version 6.0.2 CNNA? If so, then i would suggest in upgrading to 6.1.5 EGRA by downloading the full version from our website: http://www.actinicdownloads.com/v6/

There was a bug in 6.0.2 CNNA which reports this error when you checking out via ssl.

Thanks Nadeem - I have changed a lot of things in creating the site, including the Actinic PERL script, templates such as Act_Primary, and have added a report to the main Access database - will downloading the later version overwrite these ?

        Hi there

Perlscripts and templates - yes, the perlscripts will be overwritten, the templates will have information merged in. The reports will not be affected. Please could you confirm what version you are on at the moment, i just want to double check that you are on 6.0.2 CNNA.

If you are on 6.0.2, then attached to this thread is the fixed perlscripts for checkout. It has an edited OrderScript.pl and Shoppingcart.pl. If you place this files in your site1 folder and update the website, should fix this issue.
But please bear in mind; if you have customised your orderscript.pl or shoppingcart.pl then you would need to make the changes again on the new scripts.

        Kind Regards

Nadeem - I have replaced the two script files with the ones you provided, but it has made no difference. I noticed that you mentioned that the bug related to SSL checkout - in fact my site is only SSL at the Secure Trading end. Any more thoughts?! Thanks, Mark

              Hi Mark

If the above does not work, then i can only suggest upgrading your v6 to the latest release, which is 6.1.5 EGRA. This can be found at http://www.actinicdownloads.com/v6/

Like i mentioned before, any customisation to the script, which need to be, applied again when you have upgraded. Which regards to the templates, there was not that much template change, so the look and feel of the website may be okay.

              Kind Regards

                UPS also fixed?

Just wondering if the 6.1.5 upgrade would fix any issues where UPS options no longer show up. I have the class setup and have registered with UPS but no luck. I was told to upgrade to 6.1.5 and I'm currently on 6.0.2 dev. Or are there any files I could get from actinic instead of download the entire 6.1.5 version and upgrading?

                  Hi Jason

There are no files so I'm afraid you would need to download the full version and install, which will upgrade your version 6.0.2 to 6.1.5.

                  Kind Regards
