Error creating profile Sage 50 to Actinic

I am setting up Actinic Link so that I can take stock details from Sage Line 50 to Actinic, but am stuck on Create Profile. I enter all fields correctly - Site1, V8 Financial Controller, the correct full directory to find ACCDATA and correct username and password. I get the error message, "Cannot connect to Sage Database. Write access to directory "d:\Program Files\Sage\Accounts\ACCDATA\ failed: Automation error. ClassFactory cannot supply requested class". Any clues to what this means? I have given access rights to the directory in question but this has made no difference.

I have searched the internet and suspect that the problem lies with msolap80.dll. I have already tried indexing and compacting the Sage database to no avail. The Actinic Link button has appeared in my Sage, so Actinic Link must have been able to find Sage.

    Hi Sarah,

Our email support will be sending you some files with an instruction on what to do. They will be sending you the sage dll files, and you just need to register them within windows. This should resolve your issue.

      No luck

Thanks Nadeem. However, I have received the dll file and followed the accompanying instructions carefully but to no avail. I am still getting the same error message. I re-started the computer before trying. Any more suggestions or dll files?

        Hi Sarah,

Hmm.. this is a strange error. I see that Email Support has already advised the development team regarding your issue, so i would suggest in waiting to for them to reply back to you.

Still stuck with same error message

I am still not able to use Actinic Link, getting the same error message. Without it I will not be proceeding with Actinic.

            Problem Solved

I have solved the problem by upgrading my operating system from XP Home to XP Professional. I can now set up a profile on Actinic Link without being stopped by an error message. This was a cheaper solution, though not cheap, than upgrading my Sage to a more recent version, which may still not have worked.
