Error generating HTML

Using version 3 I'm getting the error "Error generating HTML pages for the catalog" when I try to preview the site. Any ideas?

Hi there

Might want to check your site1 folder (C:\Program Files\Actinic Catalog v3\Site1), do a select all, and go to "File | Properties". Make sure it has not been set to "Read Only".

Yup, that was the first thing I checked, and it doesn't seem to be read only.

Just a thought, but have a check in 'Design | Options | Appearance' and make sure there are no illegal chracters in your 'Base Page Name', ie % & * etc

Nope, that's not it: it's just plain old "index.html"

Try 'Housekeeping | Compact Databases'. If that does nothing, someone will need to take a look at your database I'm afraid.

Hi, I re tried all the threads including the last one of compacting. Still getting the HTML error. This is a recurring problem every few months for us, which is a real time waster, any ideas would be welcome.

If it is v3 I would suggest raising a support Query @ http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm as we will need to take a look at the Database to see what is causing this issue.
