My Experience with AAP

I have been running AAP for two weeks at www.stardustkids.co.uk.

I have promoted the site using the tips given at www.cosmicmarketing.com and now have 6 affiliates. AAP have been really helpful although I agree a phone call is the best way of getting a quick reply. I have now decided to target identifying sites that look like suitable affiliate sites and contacting them direct. I'm not sure that the directories are that effective. Perhaps affiliate forums are better. I plan to send regular newsletters and put up banners which are specifically designed for my best affiliates.

Any tips from successful affiliate programs

You'll probably get quite a varied responce. Some customers start their affiliate program and get good affiliates within weeks. For other it can take months. One thing is for sure, the longer you run your affiliate program the better it'll get.

v5 should be here soon, but be warned it'll have a higher price tag. With the current v4.5 you get a years free upgrades.

Do people fill in their bank details over an unsecured page? I'm not sure if I'd want to do that when joining - or is that the norm?

It depends on how you want to pay affiliates and how you setup your affiliate program. If you want to pay affiliates by wire then you can collect bank information. If you wanted to install the affiliate software on a secure server you can. Secure server certificates are pretty checp these days.

Affiliate schemes - sunny script

Just bought Sunnyscript's - "Youraffilate" for £35 which is a perl based system, it sets up easy fairly easily on my unix server in the cgi-bin and works in all aspects from what I can see.

I just need a little help finding the sucess form in actinic to redirect the order value so the affiliates can be paid a percentage of their affiliates sales. can anyone tell me where i can find it and the usual way you get the order value from it?

Q for AAP and UA users

Hi all,

I've been looking for ages for an affiliate system that integrates well enough with Actinic to:

calculate payment on order value excluding shipping
calculate different payment levels on different products

A nice feature would be implementable by someone suffering from a permanent caffeine withdrawal
