Store Sections...

Hi All, Is there someone that could possibly help this dude! I am about ready to tear my gray hair out of my head. I am setting my store up with info boxes down both sides, store sections, left text, right text, and cart details.

Now when I first set it up the store sections and cart text were working perfectly, but now for some strange reason when I test it on the web there is no text in either of those panels. No cart details, not even the zero amounts that were there before. No store sections, nothing, nada, zip...

What in the world could be causing this?

You have java script errors on the live site, which suggests that the scripts needed to launch some of the functions are not referenced.

Check your java script for the section menu and also that you have the

Hi,
Thank you very much for that information. As it turns out all of the *.js files were missing from the live site. The directory on the live site was deleted because of a server crash and I thought that simply updating the site from Actinic would have restored the store from there. Evidentally it does not happen this way. Is there a way to force a full restore from actinic when you update it? It looks as though it does not check for files that exist or not exist when it is updating.

I now have a backup of the store saved on my local PC so in the future this problem will not happen again. Since this happened I am also getting an error when I upload the store.

I have done what it suggests several times however I am still getting this message.

A Web | Refresh Website action normally ensures that everything is uploaded included scripts and java files.

With regards to your .fil files and that, if you have FTP access, then login and check the permissions and ownerships of the problem files, i.e. the FTP client should have a view listing or dir listing which will then list the owners details of the files, which if the .fil files are not the same ownership as the html and script files is most likely the cause of the problem.

If you have had a server crash and rebuild, I would suggest speaking with your host to see if they can assist you or advise to what other problems might be lurking.

Therein lyes the problem me thinks. Those files are not on the server and I cannot seem to find them on the local hard-drive either. I am still using the trial version of 7.01 and have been switching back and forth between Business and Catalog. Could that be the problem?

Also, relative to the upload. When the directory was empty on the server side I initiated an update from Actinic and only about 5 files got uploaded, none of the graphic files, no *.fil, *.js, *.css, *.cat, etc. I finally got it to go by using the Advanced Generate links. Hence the problem with the previous no section links. If you remember I told you that not all of the *.js files were there.

Whenever you are missing files on the upload, try a Web | Refresh Website. That should replace any missing files.
