child sections laid out in columns

Dear Community

Yep I know this chestnut has come up again and again. I know that I should be able to arrange my child sections in columns and overide within each section as per the FAQ and countless post on this forum. But my site just ain't playing ball with me.

I have chopped the templates up a little - (introduced the multi coulmn layout of prducts etc) .

However many column no's and subsequent row count no's in Design | Options | Sections I apply - my child section lists still come out stacked one on top of the other.

Could I have inadvertantly scrubbed out the template that effects this?

This is for the "Default Location and Arrangement of Sections List" right?

One thing i would check, is go to though child section and see under "Layout" if you have "Override Default Setting" ticked, if so untick it please, or see if the parent section has "Override Default Setting" ticked.
