    Sage or quickbooks....

    Hi guys

just got the shop working A1 (with some help from 4Sure hosts...fantastic and I cannot stress this enough, they are SUPERB

I am now about to take the plunge and opt for a book keeping package to link with Actinic V6, any views on the most compatible.

I have experience of Sage and find it good but a little fiddly at times.

The points of use I am keen to look at are ease of import from Act=>Sage/QB, Ease of maintenance and above all which one is likely to give me the least headaches

    Ta in advance

    Hi

I use 4sure too, and I completely agree, they are ace!!!

I started to use SAGE a while ago, it sounds like you are a bit of a user already. All I can say is that I went to see an accountant a month ago and showed him some things from SAGE, and he just felt that I was overcomplicating things. Part of me wishes that I had just used Excel. I am just a soletrader tho and I am using SAGE Line 50 so guess he could be right.

cheers Steven, so I take (I am a sole trader too) that QB is a much more basic system and could be more suitable for my needs

I know what you mean about, there is an awful lot of config to sort out prior to actually using it!

Does Sage link up easily with Actinic?

        Hi

I use Actinic Catalog which does not integrate into Sage. I believe that Actinic Business does.

So, I manually key in all orders into Sage. Bit of a pain, but to be fair, I find it is useful at present as it is all a learning curve.
