price range search on catalog index page

Dear Community

I'd like to have a search facility on the home page of the site that resembles the quick search (ie. a single text input box) but with the ability to select a price range as well (as per the advanced search page but without the radio buttons for all/any options etc).

Firstly is this feasible?

Secondly - in my effforts so far my price range drop down list is not picking up the values from catalogue even though I have pasted in:

<SELECT SIZE="1" NAME="NETQUOTEVAR:NAME">
NETQUOTEVAR:VALUE
</SELECT>

from Act_SearchDrop.html.

Can anybody pont me in the direction of a resource which helps get these key features of the advanced search on the home page - but without resorting to Show Search on Home Page in Search settings.

Hi Peter

I'm afraid this is not possible. I tried the following:

1. In Search settings, tick "Search on the front page"
2. Previewed the fully generated pages and copied the price range from there
3. Untick Search on Front page.
4. Edit my primary template, save and upload, tested it and got an error. It does not work.

I'm afraid if you want this, you would need to set that options in the search settings.
