Hi - any news on a fix for this? I am in the process of upgrading a store to v7 and spent a good few hours trying to work out why incorrect Custom Properties were being displayed. I also thought I must be doing something a bit stupid until I read this thread.

The store I am updating uses a fair bit of Javascript and custom properties to display images.

A fix is desperately needed as this store needs to go live before Christmas !!!!!

The reply I got back was:

... have received word from the develoment team and they have identified it as a bug, slated to be fixed in the forthcoming version. Sorry for the delay again. Meanwhile I am afraid you will need to use the workaround as suggested by Chris on the forum (http://community.actinic.com/showpos...46&postcount=7)
which I am afraid indicates a lack of appreciation of the full consequences of this fault and the number of people it affects. If they had truly studied the detailed scenarios and the snapshot I provided to them, they would realise that the workaround doesn't work!

I have imparted this gem of insight to support and await their comments...

Tim, as a result of this bug and one or two others, 7.0.3 is being brought forward, and will only have a limited number of fixes. We hope to release it on beta in early January.

So yes, we do appreciate the seriousness of this bug.

Incidentally, one of the changes in v7 is that you can go back minor maintenance releases, so you should be able to install 7.0.1 over 7.0.2.

Nowadays, we do a huge amount of testing of maintenance releases, and all bug fixes are double code-reviewed by two other programmers. I'm very sorry that this particular one got through, I've asked for the regression test that we carry out to be updated to properly cover this area.

That's good news. I do understand the problems of regression testing, and thanks for bumping the schedule up on this one.

It's pretty imminent. We are currently doing final testing and we plan to to go into beta in the next week or so. Watch the community for more details.

Not sure if this problem is likely to affect myself as I'm considering upgrading to 7.02

I'm using CustomVar:Numcols in Normans Multi-column code and CustomVar:Actwidth in template designs.

Can anyone tell me if this is likely to cause a problem ?

                    Many thanks

Why not upgrade to 7.0.3 or 7.04 and avoid the problem altogether?

Well, that was my original plan until I came across this thread.
