    Hi Justin

Just to clarify, have you removed all the brouchure pages in Actinic, and the Online Catalog green icon is your top level?

If so, are you wanting to change the link that takes you to the first page of your catalog? I.e the list of sections

      Hi

No, I want to keep my brochure page (which is at http://test.wellgosh.com/index.html).

So i either want the brochure page to replace http://test.wellgosh.com/acatalog/index.html (and i setup a redirect on the root folder to acatalog/index.html) or change the catalog 'base page' link to go to the brochure instead, bepassing acatalog/index.html.

In short, http://test.wellgosh.com/acatalog/index.html is reduntant because the brochure page has all the links to the catalogue i need, so can i get rid of it?

      Thanks a mill

You have done pretty much all you can do, there are no links to the acatalog/index page from the homepage - so nobody will be able to get there via any links...

The only way people would be able to see that page, would be if they went to http://test.wellgosh.com/acatalog/ then it would display that redundant page.

One way round that, is to give the basepage name in Design | Options | Site Defaults a name that nobdoy is ever likley to type in, and therefore be able to see, it cant be deleted as Actinic will alsways create a base page within the acatalog folder.

        Hope that helps

          Hi James

Cheers for your reply, thats true, accept for the parent section link eg. on http://test.wellgosh.com/acatalog/menswear.html the 'home' link takes you to the base page (doh).

          See what i mean?

          I'll try anything! Any suggestions?

            Justin,
I would recommend you rename your catalog home page, as previously reommended (basepage name in Design | Options | Site Defaults), to something other than index.html (put a redirect as your index.html instead for safe measure). I would also remove the breadcrumb navigation and hard code a "home" link into your brochure primary and your main primary template going to NETQUOTEVAR:NAVBHOMELINK taking you back to the brochure home page from any page on site.
If you require some form of breadcrumb trail in your site then I would recommend creating 3 additional primary templates for your three main sections and hard coding the breadcrumb trail into these templates, one for each section
            e.g.
Act_Primary_mens.html would have "Home>Mens" hard coded as trail and so on....

Hope this gives you another option

You can remove the link to the catalog also by going to Design | Options | Navigation, and taking out the top section icon name and the image and highlighted images associated with it.

                Cheers guys

I think I may have got the effect of what i was after - and in the process totally ruined all your good work you fine people at actinic have done to bring us 'Search on frontpage'.

Yep, by enabling 'Search on frontpage' and commenting out all the existing code (in Act_SearchTemplate.html) and adding a meta refresh (hardcoded for now) to the brochure page - I can keep my breadcrumb style parent secion links and acatalog/index.html redirects to root/index.html. YAY!

Although I didnt end up taking your advice, your support is (as ever) greatly appreciated!

                You Rule!
