How to add weight for box/packing materials?

Is there a way that a fixed weight can be automatically added to the total of all product weights to cover the box and packing materials?

I charge my customers based on weight. I would like to insert the actual weight (not the shipping weight) into the product, but if I do that Actinic will not take into account that the box and packing materials can add a significant amount to the freight cost - especially for air freight.

Alternatively I can bump up the product weights to make it the shipping weight, but then if a customer order multiple line items then the shipping weight will be too much .

Do you need to do this? couldn't you just adjust your shipping tables so that the cost you use is the one that would apply to the product weight plus the packaging.

i.e. if your shipping cost by weight was:

0.8 Kg £3.00
0.9 Kg £4.00
1.0 Kg £5.00
1.1 Kg £6.00

and your packaging weight was 0.2 Kg, then all you'd have to do is set your shipping table to say:

0.8 Kg £5.00
0.9 Kg £6.00
etc
