HSBC location problem

I calculate shipping by UK postcode set up in Advanced | Locations. Customers select Shipping destination in a pull down list. eg Kent TN1, Kent TN9 etc

HSBC do not allow numerics in their "allowable character set" for shipping county. Any way around this? Spelling out the number "fifteen" etc overcomes the problem but its not elegant.

HSBC work around

HSBC use data from the field in the checkout Shipping Handling section as part of their "very stringent" verification process.
Numbers are not part of the "allowable character set" so I cannot use UK postcodes. We now have a drop down list of the place names we can deliver to. Tedious but solves the problem.
