    Email Send Problem

    Hello,

    Ok, i'm having some problems sending Email Receipts to my customers. I have done a test on my Network Setup and my confirmation email is sent succesfully. However, when I try to put a dummy order through no Receipt is sent. If I then try to send an email to a customer through the Orders tab I am greated with the following error...


    Failed to communicate with the SMTP server.

    Possible Cause:
    Network transmission problems.

    Recommendation:
    Retry

    Resolution:
    If retry fails, check your SMTP settings
    or contact your ISP.


    The error was:
    58321cyclesportltd@aol.comNo SMTP server is specified

    Command: send Filename:



    I am with AOL, which I know is a problem, but am recieveing and sending my email through Outlook with no problems at all.

    Am I missing something? Any ideas?

    You need to put in an SMTP server which is provided by your hosting provider not the ISP you use, as the emails come from the hosting account and not your dial up account.

    Check with your host on there SMTP provisions, or you might want to try 'localhost' without the quotes in the smtp address.

    Failing all of that, there is a patch you can apply manually which will allow sendmail usage for v6 users, which is explained in the forum if you still have problems.
