Merging files upload error

Uploading my v4.1.1 used to be straightforward. And although my catalog still seems to be working ok, on uploading the following message appears at the 'sending catalog files/ merging incremental updates/ applying changes to price' stage.
"an error occured while merging files on the remote site. Error copying from 'from' file."
Can anyone tell me what that's all about? What's the 'from' file? How do I eliminate this error message?

Any input greatly appreciated.

Hello there

To fix this problem, you will need to do the following...

Ftp to yor server
Delete all the *.fil and *.cat files from the acatalog folder.

Within your site1 folder on your local machine
Delete all *.cat and *.fil files
Then in Actinic, go to Web | Refresh website

Followed your instructions. I'm no computer expert so I deleted the files with some trepidation.
Worked brilliantly. My catalog now uploads without any glitches.
