    Large Database slowing me down.

Our orders are now approaching 5 figures and Actinic is becoming quite slow. I have done the database compacting but it made little difference.

I dont really want to delete all my old orders just incase and the "show orders no older than X days" does not improve speeds - it just makes it easier to find current orders.

I guess there is no choice other than to start deleting completed orders but how would i go about doing it in a way that should the details ever be needed they can be looked at in some way...

    TIA

This is one of the limitations of Access - we found the same thing. Why not make a copy of the database to keep old orders but trim down the size of the actual Actinic database?

By setting up an Access query you could configure a report or query to provide order details based on a supplied Order Number.
