    Section name headers

    Hello all

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove the name of the store and the > symbol that appears at the top of each section in my store. I would like to keep the section name though.

It now appears as (an example): My Store > Sporting Goods

I would like to remove the "My Store" and the ">" symbol.

    Is this possible?

    Cheers!
    Kevin

Thanks to Actinic US support I have the answer for anyone else who might be interested.

The seperator character can be found in this file (also which CSS span is attached to it): Act_ParentSectionsSeparator.html

    From US support:
code level question that requires a code level modification
using developer you can enable the Dreamweaver extension open a page in
dreamwever and view the code. make sure you uncheck the "compact html" in the
design | options of Actinic. this will show all code and templates in the
    built html file's in Actinic.
here are the templates you should look at to make the changes you need:
    Act_ParentSectionsThis.html
    Act_ParentSectionsLink.html
    Act_ParentSectionsSeparator.html

    Cheers!

      Hello Kevin,

Have you had any success with this? I've tried to do the same and managed to get just the section headings showing. However, when clicking on these headings which are still links, the page jumps to the first page of the store each time!

Have you had better luck? If so, perhaps you could let me know how?

      Many thanks

I think maybe we are doing 2 different things.

I changed my links to be just the name of the section and styled them using CSS. Before it had the store name as well. Mine are not links and never have been.

My guess is that in the file "Act_ParentSectionsLink.html" (assuming you are using the same template - Best Sellers - as I am) is where you can set the links.

Hope that helps - at least in some small way.

          Hello Kevin,

I'm definitely trying to do the same as you. (I think!)

If you look at this my url:

          http://support.actinic.co.uk/~kcsupp...xclusives.html

You will see that I have a similar situation which I believe you sought help with.

Online Catalogue > Exclusives at the top of the products. Although the section heading is not a link, the preceeding "Online Catalogue" is. When I get rid of the ">" and "online catalogue" the remaining section heading "exclusives" turns into a link back to the front page somehow!

I was just wondering how you edited the Act_parentsectionlink and the
Act_parentsectionthis templates, as I'm obviously doing something wrong.

          Many thanks

OK - it looks like you are doing the same thing I did.

            Heres what I did.

In the attached JPG have a look at the circled areas. I removed my store name from here in Developer. You can't leave it blank so I just typed in a space character.

Then in the file "Act_ParentSectionsSeparator.html" I removed the ">" character. After uploading everything thing was fine and there were no links.

            Hope that helps.

            Cheers!

              Thanks Kevin

This technique works well in Catalog as well.

              Best wishes,
