Creating a nav bar

How do I create a nav bar to put in place of the buttons on my site?

I use the smart template, slightly modified.

I want to get rid of the mouseover text (site map, terms & conds etc.)

Hi Grant,

Simply open Act_Primary.html from "Advance | Template Manager | Main" and look for NETQUOTEVAR:FOOTERGUIDE. This is what brings up the navigation for the store. Simply remove it and hardcode your own navigation in its place.
