VAT on components

Is it possible when there is a main product which is displayed inc. VAT to which an additional optional component can be added which itself is probably going to be VAT exempt?

SO when the basket is viewed, the main product has VAT added, but the component (lets say a £50 fee) when added doesn't add to the VAT bill?

Hi David

The way you will add or take out VAT on components, would be to associate the component to a hidden product. That hidden product will have for the Tax Treatment: Exempt.

So when a customer add thats master product and tick for the component, all the shopping cart will show, is the VAT for the master product.
