    Golden Padlock Missing

    Hi

I've had an error reported on one of my sites that has been fine until now. The site was developed with 6.1.5 and is hosted with Claranet (lots of ongoing problems in the past but slowly getting better on that front!)

The golden padlock has disappeared from the checkout process! The site has its own SSL certificate and it has been working fine until now. I know the checkout process is still encrypted, I've right clicked on the page to check everything is OK. I've also tested my network settings and they say everything is fine. I'm not using frames (wouldn't recommend them anyway) but I've checked the Design Options and frames are not selected for checkout etc.

I'm concerned that people will not complete the checkout process if the padlock is missing. Users have also reported that the site is unsafe! So if anyone has any ideas I'd apreciate them. I have contacted Claranet to look into this but they haven't got back to me yet.

    The site is www.snug.uk.com

Your checkout form has a base tag that is not https.

    Code:
    <BASE HREF="http://www.snug.uk.com/acatalog/">

      Cheers Bob.

Why has it been fine for nearly a year and now it's suddenly gone wrong? I have never changed this in this particular site. Shouldn't Actinic be able to handle this change automatically once SSL is setup?!

Right I'm going to give it a try and I'll let you know how I get on.

      Many thanks

        Bob or anyone else!

OK I changed the 'Base Href' to 'https' and the padlock reappeared - excellent! I also have a confession, I did change the basehref before...so I must eat a huge amount of humble pie.

Right I'm feeling full of humble pie, now I have another problem with the checkout. The CSS is not rendering and I get a 'secure/non secure items' warning message. I've FTP'd a few graphics that weren't loading properly and these work fine now, but the CSS still isn't working.

Does anyone have any suggestions, this is driving me crazy!

          Hi there

Just checked your site and i don't get the warning error "secure/non secure items" and it does seem for me to pick up your css file. You font looks the same as your store pages.

I am using Internet Explorer 6.0.2.8

          Kind Regards
