    problem with snapshot

I understand from Actinic that you should be able to open snapshot files with winzip and if you can this proves they are good snapshots

I have tried this on all of mine and it does not appear to work using evaluation copy winzip 9.0 sr1

My problem is that I cannot move a new snapshot from my development computer to the online one as it never stops loading (letter keeps going from folder to folder on display)

I need to be able to transfer the new amended site but not update the order files on the online computer

Using Windows XP ver 5.1 build 2600 xpsp-sp2

After a afternoons work and numerous attempts is suddenly accepted it with no logical reason as nothing significant was changed apart from my temper and blood pressure

      What is your Actinic version?

Have you maintained all your images under the site1 folder structure?

do you use weird characters or anything in either the image names or folder structure naming conventions?

I'd had so many problems with Actinic and images elsewhere on the machine, that I do NOT recommend putting them anywhere else than under the site folder.

Particularly weird errors occur if you have them under "My Documents" and then use the feature within windows to move "My Documents" to another location - as I do with my development machines.

Also - if the c:\documents and settings\username\blah type folder structure is involved, Actinic will choke if the user doesn't exist on the destination machine.

Due to the number of issues involved, you just complicate your life way too much to NOT put your images central to the site folder in question - at least in my experience.... if it works, I'll keep doing it.... if it doesn't... don't do it!

Many thanks for your input. I had a quick look in the search and found a few more items that indicate you are right and the image files are not happy outside the site.

I had tried to be clover for my three sites and place them all in one common file as some sites use the same image.

I will now copy this image file to each site folder and wear my fingers out changing the directories, but hey thats "actinic life"

Again many thanks for your time and effort on my behalf

              Also ...
Actinic does not like exceptionally long file paths as someone very kindly pointed out to me when I was having problems with site snapshots.
