    Actinic not downloading/uploading

OK, does anyone know why Actinic would suddenly stop downloading or uploading?
My server has just been upgraded (although this applies to both my V6 and V7 site and the V6 one is fine) and, since it started picking up the new site, it won't download.
I click download/upload or rfresh and it does nothing. No box, nothing.
I get an error "tone" if I close down Actinic implying that there is an error message but I get no message!
I've tried restarting Actinic (obviously) and have tried shutting down and restarting my Pc but nothing helps.
My V6 catalogue is fine though.
I'm in desperate need of help as I have orders waiting to be downloading which are seriously going to affect my on-site stock levels (oh for real-time stock control right now!)
Has anyone ANY idea why this would happen?
I've uploaded a snapshot at www.budget-bumps.co.uk/sat.acd (should advise that this snapshot is over 17mb in size!) just on the off chance anyone has time to take a look at it?
I can't work it out and it's really worrying me now.
    Thanks in advance
    Tracey

    incidentally...

when I do a network settings test, all runs fine.
I get my test email and everything comes up as passed.
Just in case that makes a difference.
    Cheers

        Hi Jo,
        Network settings below...

        HTTPPROXYADDRESS
        HTTPPROXYPORT 80
        HTTPPROXYUSER
        HTTPPROXYPASSWORD
        FTPPROXYMODE 0
        FTPPROXYADDRESS
        FTPPROXYPORT 21
        FTPPROXYUSER
        FTPPROXYPASSWORD
        SCRIPTID 1
        SCRIPTEXT .pl
        SMTPHOST mail2.pinbrook.net
        WEBSITEURL http://www.budget-bumps.co.uk/

        USEPASSIVEFTP true
        FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG /budget-bumps.co.uk/acatalog/

Thing is, I cannot see that it's a problem with the settings as Actinic isn't even trying to download. I just click download and nothing, no box, no progress bar, nothing.
I'm totally out of ideas now

              done that, results as follows

              Pinging www.budget-bumps.co.uk [81.3.94.41]:

              Ping #1: Got reply from 81.3.94.41 in 135ms [TTL=52]
              Ping #2: Got reply from 81.3.94.41 in 164ms [TTL=52]
              Ping #3: Got reply from 81.3.94.41 in 200ms [TTL=52]
              Ping #4: Got reply from 81.3.94.41 in 140ms [TTL=52]

              Done pinging www.budget-bumps.co.uk!

(to do an IPv6 ping for a domain name, add a ':' before the domain name)

ARGHHH, I don't understand what is going on at all
I'm sure it's not a hosting problem (although it did start when the server changed approx 4pm yesterday afternoon) it seems like a software problem but I've uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch (then importing a recent (while it was working) snapshot) to no avail.
                I'm really panicking now

                  just back up after tea....

and have received 4 test emails so far, Jo
As I said, network settings all seem fine but Catalog is definitely not happy
I've done all the usual "easy" options (restoring backups, importing snapshots etc) and the not-so-easy ones (reinstall, database compact and repair)
It's just not even giving the download dialogue although it does sit there ticking over as if it's working (cursor flickering to egg-timer ever now and again) but Task Manager so no activity in that area.
(as I type, 5th network settings email arrives )
Sorry to take so much board space today, I'm just at the end of my tether (not helped by hyperactive "post-birthday-party" 4 year old!! Darned party food!)
                  Cheers, Tracey

                    the parameter is incorrect???

Anyone know why I would be getting this message?
I'm getting it every now and then when I try to perform things such as a site preview (offline one)
Is it related to my bigger problem, do you think?
Just something else to mention (oh, and I'm having search problems too but I'll search the archives for help with that first)

Probably a stupid answer but have you got a virus etc. may be worth checking you computer out a www.mcafee.co.uk or one of the other sites

Not so long ago I had one that locked out theemail side of things and was not found with a couple of anti virus software packages but found on a anti trojan called ATS

well, not according to Norton, no.
Interestingly, I've found a thread at the start of November http://community.actinic.com/showthr...8&page=1&pp=15 (hope that link works!) which had several folk with exactly the same problem.
Unfortunately, nobody posted what (if any) the solution turned out to be so, while it's reassuring to know it's not just me, it wasn't much help!
                        Cheers though

Having downloaded your snapshot, Tracey, My version here is now starting to update (I haven't taken it any further than just to see if I can get it further than seemingly doing nothing)

                          Things I changed

change the CGI script ID number

                          and updated to patch 7.02

I am pretty sure it is changing the script ID which is the key factor, rather than the patch, I also put catalog into test mode and uploaded, placed an order and downloaded.

The only thing i am not sure about is whether changing the script ID has an effect on being able to download orders - hopefully someone else can answer this.

Jo, it isn't downloading the test order you placed.(I get copies of customer emails)
Is this because you have downloaded it at your end or am I unable to download it?
                            Cheers

Ah, you know what? It's probably OK.
I just placed a test order myself (beats getting kids ready for school!) and it worked fine so I'm guessing you downloaded the one you did?
So, it's a fix then? The CGI script ID?
Was considering patching up to 7.0.3, is 7.0.2 a safer bet? Or should I leave it a while?!
Thanks for your help, Jo, always above and beyond the call of duty!!
                              Cheers!
