Converting Web Currency

My site is currently in Euros. I'm looking to duplicate the site and have all the prices in sterling. Is there a quick way of updating the database to multiply the current value by an inputted exchange rate ?

Eg

Euro Price
€2.99

Conversion
2.99 * 0.701672 = 2.09

Sterling Price
£2.09

Wouldn't it be easier to run one catalog with 2 currencies?
