    With the value deleted it makes one branch difference otherwise it still opens up to the same view.
    Did you actually right-click on the 'SelectedTreeItems' item in the right-hand panel and select 'Delete'? And you were definitely in 'LOCAL_MACHINE' rather than 'CURRENT_USER'?

    Sorry to double check, but I've done this with numerous snapshots and it's worked each time.

          It's seems to be a one shoot deal !
          After reinstalling the regedit backup, I just erase the line and it kept my tree change for that one time.
          Did not kept it on the subsequent change !

            Ah - I've just realised that I am doing this with 7.0.3 (testing a pre-alpha) and I guess you chaps have got 7.0.2.

            7.0.3 will be going into beta fairly on in 2005 so you will be able to apply my fix then.

            Hope that's OK.
