Postage and Packaging

Im having a real issue trying to sort out my sites postage and packaging costs. Each item costs a unique price to post. Is it possible to set up some sort of system that allows me to input the price of postage in the products own card?

I tried to make the weight option work for me by creating 10 weights with a price. For example
1: 80p
2: 1.00
3: 1.50
4: 1.80
5: 2.00
etc...etc...

But this stopped working when someone chose 2 items at weight 5 were having to pay postage for weight 10 intead of 2x weight 5

I have a couple of suggestions for you.

1. From a business perspective, it makes sense to keep P+P as simple as possible from the purchasers perspective. Make it too complicated and you'll just lose customers.

2. If you really want each item to have a unique P+P charge, then you could do it by making the P+P charge a non-optional component for each card. That way the cart and invoice/receipt will show the product cost and the P+P cost for each item.

It won't be elegant but it should work the way you want it to.

or you could simply include the price of the postage in the product, and advertise "free" delivery.
