    Sitemap HTML is other templates

I want to replicate the unordered list html from the sitemap in the primairy template as a main menu.

I know that visually I can do this already using scripts but I want simple unordered list code that search engines will like.

I read a post where someone effectively cut and pasted the code into the primary template which achieves the same thing but in this case it has to be automatically generated - i.e. the people updating the site will not be able / trusted to cut and paste code.

    Can I do this?

    Any ideas??

Thanks, thats the post I was referring to... I haven't explained myself too well. If I create a file to include, I've no problem making it appear on all pages. What I want is to be able to include an automatically generated sitemap unordered list with no template or other code around it.

Its basically what Pinbrook has done but having the include auto generated.

Question is, "Is there a way to automatocally extract and use the sitemap unordered list at page generation? (NOT the Javascript one though)"

      Cheers, Sam

I'm afraid not. That's what the Javascript one is there for.

If you stick with the JavaScript list but also make a single hard-coded link to the sitemap.html then the spiders will have something to follow (admittedly 1 level deeper than you want).

One of the advantages of using the sitemap to create your navigation is not only to create links for spiders, but you also generate lots of internal links between your pages which i believe will affect page rank on internal site pages
